Eric and I were in Scottsdale to cover the auctions and elected to find a rental car through Hagerty’s Driveshare program.

This Jag may look like a decadent Brit but the under the hood is a Chevrolet 350-cu-in V8.  As at home in the Arizona desert as a Silverado.

So Eric and I dipped off the pavement onto some well maintained dirt roads.

Soft suspension and thick sidewall tires made the XJ6 feel right at home in this hard packed dirt.

With some heftier suspension and proper off-road tires, this luxury sedan could find its way into next years Mint 400.

Don’t think we just went bombing around the desert in someone else’s classic.  The Jaguar’s owner, Riley, knew what he was getting himself into when he handed the keys over to Eric.
